Junior Representative
Junior and Youth players who want to test their skills beyond the park level competition are encouraged to trial for one of our representative teams.
Our pathway from social participation to representative level starts with selection trials. If selected, players can expect to train weekly from late November onwards, progressing through Gala Days and culminating in representing St George Touch at the Junior State Cup in Wagga Wagga in February.
Elite level players then have the opportunity to trial for Regional teams (Southern Rebels) as well as State and National pathways.
Players who have played for another Club may trial for St George if they are eligible via participation in our Junior Competition, however, parents should note that NSW Touch has strict rules on transferring between Clubs so this may not always be possible.
Senior Representative
Youth and Senior (Opens) players are required to participate in one of our local competitions.
The first Senior representative competition each year is the Vawdon Cup (formerly known as Sydney Championships), which is played on Friday nights and some Sunday against other representative clubs. It typically runs from September through to early November on Friday nights and some Sundays.
We then prepare for the NSW State Cup in December, which sees representative teams from all across the state compete the NSW Championship across under 20’s, men’s, women’s, mixed and senior-aged divisions. This tournament, typically held in Port Macquarie, and is a great way to compete against other elite athletes and enjoy a great trip away with teammates and friends.
